The essential aspects of Earth's climate system; Earth's energy balance; climate sensitivity; sea level and ice cover; ocean circulation; nutrient cycling and atmospheric variations of CO2; palaeoceanography and climate numerical modeling; relationships between the various compartments of the planet (hydrosphere, atmosphere, cryosphere, biosphere, geosphere); analysis of high-resolution climate records; polar enviroment and its role in the climate change; abrupt climate change; the factors that affect short-term climate variability; current state of climate change; scientific misconceptions and the relationship between science and media; global discussions on climate change.
